Sawyer aka UKC/CAN CH, AKC GCH Ashbrooke Quantrels Tom Sawyer Islnd, CGC,CD-H, RA, RLP, RL2, JH, NSD, NRD, V – Sawyer is the puppy we kept from our first litter.  He was the pick of the litter and we had all intentions of placing him in a show home.  However, when someone showed interest in him as a pet only, in the pit of my stomach I knew I couldn’t let him go.  I couldn’t have kept Sawyer without the help of my good friend and neighbor, Kathy Martin.  Kathy helped out with Sawyer when I had to go into the office and even attend training classes with us.  She’s his other mom and it couldn’t have worked out better for both of us.  ‘Soy Boy’ is a hoot, he’s attentive and bright and of course still mischievous puppy, just now in a big dog body.  He earned his APDT Rally Puppy title in August of 2008 and was ranked #4 in the Nation for Rally Puppy.  He continues to show in conformation when we have the time.  We started training for Hunt tests in March 2010.  It was pretty clear right away that Sawyer really enjoyed this and had quite the talent for it.  He qualified 4 out of 4 times and earned his Junior Hunter title.  We are doing lots of activities with Sawyer; we compete in Rally, Obedience, Hunt tests, and hope to start training again for Agility and maybe try Tracking.
